Vancouver International Airport — YVR

In recent years, the jet fuel infrastructure has undergone significant expansion at Vancouver International Airport  in order to keep pace with the airport authority’s passenger terminal development program. The facilities consist of a jet fuel storage tank farm, an underground jet fuel hydrant system, a tanker truck jet fuel loading compound, and gasoline & diesel storage and distribution facilities.

Jet fuel is delivered into the tank farm via pipeline and tanker trucks, and is then distributed to various aircraft gates via the hydrant system or refueling tankers, depending on where the gate is located.

Facility administration services and tank farm management services are provided via the airline fuel consortium. Into-plane fueling services are not consortium based, and are managed individually by each airline. Approximately 96,000 flights are fuelled annually at Vancouver — YVR.
