Winnipeg International Airport — YWG

Over the past three years, the jet fuel infrastructure has undergone significant expansion at Winnipeg International Airport. A new underground jet fuel hydrant system was constructed in conjunction with the airport authority’s development of a new passenger terminal and concrete tarmac.

The fuel facility now consists of a jet fuel storage tank farm, underground jet fuel hydrant system, and gasoline & diesel storage and distribution facilities. Jet fuel is delivered into the tank farm via tanker trucks, and is then distributed to each aircraft gate via the hydrant system.

Services at this airport are provided via the airline fuel consortium and include facility administration, into-plane fueling and tank farm management. Approximately 26,000 flights are fuelled annually in Winnipeg — YWG.
